Nina - Taking deep breathes, focusing on my inner Self and other stuff just like dat. :)

bethvw - You are so right, family can provide a grounding when things are not working out the way you planned. I agree with you about nature as well. I remember stopping at the ocean in winter and early in the morning in summer, just to feel the pounding waves and look at the never ending horizon! Nature puts things back in perspective. “Centering” describe what being immersed in nature does does for the body and soul. Thank you for your thoughtful ideas!

asmalltowndad - Other than my family, nature is my inspiration spiritually and creatively. Whether it’s setting on waters edge of a lake or ocean, or in a woods listening to the sounds and it’s visual wonders, it seems to bring me back to earth and calm.

bethvw - Stef, Changing your perspective can transform your life. I know you know that!

bethvw - I love to think of you ribbon weaving with a smile on your face! You are so right that even changing materials can create a whole new perspective? How has the experience with Jewelry making affected your ribbon work?
Can you show an example of a change brought on by switching materials for a while?

Stef - Beth, you have the right idea! I also really needed to hear this right now… Thanks. : )

Sally - A change of scene, or just materials, can be a boon to creativity. I’ve just gotten back to my ribbons after several months of jewelry-making. I think I was smiling all day yesterday.

beth - Love it, Nina! If you can’t go anywhere right now, you can change how you look at where you are!

Nina - Lovely! Looking for that special place now. Thank you :)

Nina - Lovely quotes and thoughts. Brings to my mind that I truly am creating everyday in every little way: being present. being real , feeling, sensing, risking — that all of this is living and NOT suffering!. And my favorite: lookin a bunch of rocks and seeing a cathedral. For me this is transformation. Thank you, Beth, for helping start my day with a smile and affirmation that I, too, am creative in my day to day. Enjoy your “everyday creativeness”!

Art exhibit-finally up and running!!

Art exhibit is up and running! It has been inspiring to carry on a dialogue with others about working with the effects of light as it changes over the day. I have utilized the structure of the “liturgy of the hours”

Karen Renna - Carole, I don’t think I can add much to those thoughts. Perhaps just that nothing ever truly repeats itself so enjoy each moment as it is in its entirety. I too am taken aback by the power vested in one single moment of light if I take that moment to be present in it. Beth I guess that is what your painting does.

Carole Freysz Gutierrez - Beth,
you have a beautiful way with words – they always touch me! I also love your sketches. I remember painting the same corner in my room over and over many years ago. I always loved series of ‘the same’, which of course is never the same. It’s a great discipline to pay close attention to the richness of one thing in its many appearances. Every simple object harbors a wealth of inspiration when observed attentively. The world is in one moment, and the moment stands for the world.
