Create your life as if it were a work of art

I imagine life as a journey through time, that each moment is a gift. People, places and circumstances change around us.  We make choices that will help to create the life we experience. When I create my art, I try to make each stroke as close to my heart as possible. Every choice I make…

Transforming as a way of life…Steve Jobs

It  is good for us to reflect on the simplicity and focus that Steve Jobs incorporated into his life. He never gave up, on his inner visions. As a result his actions have had a very obvious positive effect on our lives. He also kept encouraging us to do the same.   “Your work is…

admin - Agreed, Joan! The funny thing about day to day living is that we often forget that we have no guarantee that we are going to awaken the next day. I know that I think my art is my greatest work, but it may be the time I shared my homemade bread with some fishermen working their second job on my shift at a fabric printing factory. And as you described, a person’s “great work” can continue to change…even on a daily basis.

Joan Henehan - The great work is different for each person and can change throughout one’s lifetime. In short, though, I would like to think that we can each put back a bit more than we take from the world, each according to their abilities.

Knowing that there are time constraints can certainly keep some momentum going!

Karen Renna - Well let’s see if this time my comment works. Last one I typed did not fly. So patterns are essential to building ones life. Early morning is generally when I say my prayers setting up the focus of being of service to my self and other s for the day. My prayers open me up sprititually, mentally and creatively to go forward in the best way possible. Night time is when I try to reflect on what was successful and what was not. Then I try to reevaluate so that I can change what did not work. This applies to family friends and students and my own art work.

Karen Renna - I too love the early morning. That is when I say my prayers. They are my key to unlocking my better side both spritiually and mentally. the creative of course comes right after that. Other wise I am not as patterned or organized as I would like to be. Each day though I am more practiced at striving to do it and I find that I have been much more productive this year than other years. I just finished two small paintings that I began last year. I am not any closer to getting my studio set up. This has been a harsh winter on many levels but I have not stopped the planning or the organizing for the studio. So patterns and habits are essential as long as we continue to assess their validity to our current life situations.

admin - Nina, it is amazing that this phenomena happens just like this on a daily basis, and it never gets old ! Any ideas about organizing your life , especially in a new environmwnt? Any discoveries, lately?

Nina - YES! Thank you! I love the vigils from the dark to light! Thank you!

How an image can change your life journey

Learning how to image or hold an image in my imagination is essential. When I allow myself to hold an image in my mind and to value its presence, I have an extraordinary fluid medium to work with !
