“Set yourself to practice drawing, drawing only a little each day. so that you may not come to lose your taste for it, or get tired of it… Do not fail, as you go on, to draw something everyday, for no matter how little it is, it will be well worthwhile, and it will do…

Great to see your work. You are as amazing as I remember. great tips!! and i love that wallace stevens quote! Thank you, Beth. @Anna As you articulate, preconceived notions are certainly challenging to deal with, because it is difficult to disengage from them. Perhaps they seem like a kind of lifesaver for us, so we don’t have to risk too much. In reality, though, expectations can crowd the truth out of creative marks. The marks then, are no longer searching, they have stopped growing. When i see that it is a reminder to me to begin again to trust my hand working with my heart in the now moment. Thank you for the affirmation! @Hybrid J Art and life require similar handling, as you expressed so eloquently. Hi Beth – What a timely post, tying so well in what I am pondering right now. I fully agree with what you write: get physical – definitely, set a time limit – yes, I set a limit of 20 min today!. What I find important too, is to be void of preconceived notions of the result and just let the brush/hand lead! What a great post to remind us not only about art but also about life! Just how many times we try to impress, both ourselves and others, that we forget the reason why we are doing something. Thank you for writing up such wonderful post. Have you always wanted to shape your day a little more? Try a dose of creativity. After all , you are the architect of your life! show 2 comments Thanks, Beth! I sent this one on to Max and Will. I think they will love it. Love you…. Great info, Beth. Thank you . “Creative every day” sounds like a fun place to be….. Now, for me , taking this energy into my realms is where Create begins….. Thanks for the seeds! – ng |

fred - Hey Beth
Like this idea of doing a little bit of anything every day. A little bit of discipline, a little bit of spontaneity.
